The Six (6 hours) of Driving Training Behind the Wheel conducted in conformance with Section 50.45b, Chapter 1, Article 2.2, Title 13, California Code of Regulations.
- Driving posture: Students will learn the Technique how to measure the necessary distance between the students and the steering wheel and how to reach and feel the gas and brake effectively and comfortably, what is the tiptoe technique? What does the position 10 and 2 o’clock mean? Why do we use 9 and 3 instead? What is the crisscross pattern?
- Mirrors adjustment for the center, left and right side: What is correct adjustment to see the curb, the approaching cars or objects? Where are the blind spots? How to turn the head over the shoulders without losing the steering wheel or directional control.
- Understanding traffic rules completely:
- Residential areas or Sign streets rule: Students will learn what are the common mistakes that the most of the drivers did on the sign streets and traffic roads. What are the rolling stops, double stop or second stops? What are they for? How many kinds of stops or breaks the drivers normally use? Why the people run over the stop signs most of the time nowadays. How to avoid the mistakes like that.
- Directional control: How to keep the car right on tracks without swinging or swerving in the short period of time and know for sure the car goes straight or not. What is the technique the corner and two points? How far away the students can scan ahead and react, how far the safety distance the students can follow the car ahead. What they have to focus and deal with the traffic congestion. What is the terminology of L, S, N or Smog and how to apply them to control the car to go straight and turn?
- Turns: The students learn how to apply the technique steps L, S, N to the turns, where they have to focus, What is the first and second point to turn the car into the assigned lanes accurately, avoid L letter turns, too wide or too sharp turns, they need to know how much to use the gas and steer the steering wheel just enough to end up the turns smoothly and accurately in the correct lanes.
- Parking and Reverse straight: Students will learn to use the dot technique to park the car precisely away 18 inches from the curb and how to back up straight parallel to the curb and how to adjust the car if they cannot park well for the first time or far away from the curb.
- Understanding the drive test criterion: Students will have the over view about the DMV drive test standard requirement from the basic training and develop their driving skill on the right track from the beginning of the training, they understand what they are doing and what they have to do to drive well to pass their drive test and drive safely after they finished the Six hours of driving training course, not to drive around to finish the required time (Chicken run training). The pretest is available for students who want to understand completely what are tricky rules the DMV require for the drive test and check to see if they are ready for the drive test. The instructors will test their driving skill like the real drive test and pinpoint the problems or the weak points of the driving skill of the students, so they can correct them before they go for the real drive test.
- Automatic control traffic lights (Five traffic lights in three columns: 2:2:1): the traffic in your direction have the green arrow light first and after that it will change to the two-way control green light. It automatically cancels the arrow light and turn to the two-way control traffic lights when its sensor recognizes no traffic in the left turn only lanes. Position 9 and 3 help the students balance the steering wheel more effectively; and avoid the air bag explode the students’ hands bounce back to their faces if they have 10 and 2 position on the steering wheel.
- The Blind light: The Control light is off at the five-way intersection or two intersections are too close to each other.

- When change lanes, the students have to see the whole car with both head lights of the approaching car in their side mirrors to change lanes safely, the distance around 3 and a half car space to change lane safely, do not forget to look over the shoulders to make sure it’s clear in the blind spots before change lanes.

- Lane control: Double intermittent lines in both sides, the lane is opened with the heavy traffic- flow, the students can drive fast with the posted speed limit as long as the arrow light for it is still green. On the contrary with the center lane or emergency lane, the student cannot drive fast and
